Residents Enjoying Interior Upgrades at Romney Meadows

The affordable housing community Romney Meadows, formerly Claystone at the Crossing, has been the subject of a huge renovation in 2016. As the renovations are nearing a close, residents have been able to enjoy some well-deserved upgrades inside their apartment units.

When Romney Meadows changed ownership in 2015, new management made a commitment to become the affordable housing community of choice in Lafayette. This meant upgrading every unit both inside and out. As important as the upgrades to the roofing, sidewalks, and insulation were, the interior upgrades at Romney Meadows were perhaps the most important improvements of all.

When living in affordable housing, it can be common to feel a loss of independence. Upgraded appliances, flooring, and counters can give people pride in where they live. This is something that management felt very strongly about providing.

Although resident comfort was the number one priority, management also kept efficiency in mind when making upgrades, which is why they upgraded the lighting and appliances. The new upgrades will result in less energy consumption as well as less maintenance from the staffa win-win for residents and management.

Management also decided to replace most of the carpeting in units with high-quality vinyl flooring. This decision is aimed at decreasing the amount of time maintenance has to spend in the apartment units. It saves management money, and it improves resident comfort.

Perhaps the most noticeable change in the apartments are the upgraded counters and cabinets.  These upgrades are what many of the residents were most looking forward to. New counters and cabinets can go a long way towards making a living space feel like home. Residents at Romney Meadows now have kitchens that will work as hard as they do.

The goal was to make these units a highly desirable place to live, and the property now has apartment units that reflect that. The interior upgrades at Romney Meadows have made the property the affordable housing community of choice in Lafayette, Indiana.
