As you may or may not have heard, the affordable housing community Romney Meadows, formerly Claystone at the Crossing, is under new ownership and new management. The management team at Romney Meadows, American Apartment Management, has made a commitment to improving the Romney Meadows community, both inside and out.
After changing management and ownership, Romney Meadows was the subject of an extensive renovation project. The changes to the units and the property itself culminated with the name change from Claystone at the Crossing to Romney Meadows.
Since, renovations began, the following updates have been made:
- Upgraded roofing
- Repaired/resurfaced sidewalks and blacktop
- Upgraded insulation
- Upgraded ventilation
- New vinyl flooring
- Sustainable lighting
- Installed EnergyStar appliances
- Upgraded countertops and cabinets
These updates are all in addition to an upgraded engaging style of management. The staff is doing everything they can to meet the needs of the residents. In fact, the property manager at Romney Meadows, LaTonya Fleming, lives on the property herself.
American Apartment Management Company Inc. (AAMCI) was founded in 1972. The company specializes in managing multi-family, moderate to low income housing developments.
AAMCI is a member of NAHMA (National Affordable Housing Management Association) and IRHP (Institute for Responsible Housing Preservation).
American Apartment Management is known as the affordable housing provider of choice. When management changed hands in 2015, the goal for Romney Meadows was to become the affordable housing community of choice in Lafayette. The management team at Romney Meadows has surely taken steps towards reaching that goal.
