My Story – Lydia Gilbert

Romney-Meadows-renovations

Lydia Gilbert recently celebrated her work anniversary at Romney Meadows, formerly known as Claystone at the Crossing. Lydia is a Leasing Agent at Romney Meadows and has over 14 years of experience in her field. She was hired by the new owners as part of a management team that works together as a resource available to residents of the community.

Romney-Meadows-renovationsLydia is proud of the new management team and feels that the respect they show the residents is reflected tenfold in the way the the residents interact with the management. “We get phone calls now from residents saying they love their apartment instead of complaints,” she says.

The most exciting part of all these changes, according to Lydia, is the new activities and programming available for the residents. For example, Lydia was in charge of organizing the Halloween party, which included voting on pumpkin carvings and “ghost bowling.” The party was a great success with the residents, young and old.

A supportive and friendly management team can make a big difference for the residents of any community, and Lydia is a big proponent of that belief. She makes an effort to learn a new resident name every month and encourages residents to visit the office to chat and a have a free cup of coffee. Lydia, as well as the rest of the management staff, are prime examples of what makes Romney Meadows the affordable housing community of choice in Lafayette, Indiana.
